Ive learned so much during my time in digital journalism. I feel as if this class has really prepared me to succeed. I now have necessary tools to be a successful digital journalist. the most important thing that I learned this year was how to input audio and give proper interviews. as a future journalist the ability to construct good interviews is of vital importance and I feel I now have learned how to conduct and upload an interview properly.
Back again with Michelle Mosquera on how she will spend her quarentined summer. Michelle worked in a jewelry store that specializes in charms, bracelets and necklaces last summer and had planned to work their again this summer but the road block that is COVID-19 has prevented that. That’s not the only think that covid-19 has interupted, jobs like waitresses and all retail have also been taken away and now Michelle has to figure out a way to make some money this summer. Life guarding and jobs in grocery stores seem to be the best option for her. But job opportunity’s this summer are very slim.
Like the rest of the world Michelle has had enough of her house. It was fun spending time with family but she has had enough.
She is very optimistic about returning to school and has high hopes that we will get through this together
Some things Michelle has been doing during the start of summer is going on walks with friends, ( 6 feet apart of course ) and just taking this opportunity of having free time to get in shape and exercise more. It is good that Michelle is trying to stay positive and better her self while having this free time. Like most people Michelle has braced herself for the long run. She thinks that we will eventually get through this by the time September starts but we will he required to wear masks and social distance for the near future after covid-19 is gone.
With this she urges us to take other diseases seriously as well there are other things out there beside covid-19 and they need to be taken seriously.

Michelle Mosquera is currently a full-time student at Temple University. COVID-19 has been especially difficult for her to be a nursing student a major/profession that is mostly hands-on. It is hard for her to learn how to properly be a nurse virtually the best practice is in person with real patients. She loses valuable learning experiences from practicals and shadowing nurses at the temple hospital because of COVID-19. We can all learn something from what is happening in the world right now and that to treat our essential workers with the respect and admiration that they deserve,
In other news, Michelle has been catching up on school work and has been picking up on old hobbies that she started when she was a kid like drawing and playing the guitar. Also, she is taking this time at home to spend it with family, during the school year she does not get to see her parents very often during the school year because of her schedule and using this time to do so.
Michelle has been commending her fellow nurses on the fantastic job that they have been doing and they all have earned our gratitude. “Thank-you for all you have done in this fight against COVID-19.”
1. Why do you think audio is the ideal type of media for the piece because it allows the person/narrator to be very descriptive. The unique part about it is that it allows them to describe or narrate a situation while producing content at the same time
2. One part that I thought was very cool during the Penn state podcast was the live interviews that they were able to give with the girl who just turned 21. And it kind of brings us into the moment. Almost paints a picture in our heads on how a Penn state tailgate is and really exemplifies why Penn state is rated the number one party school in the nation.
3. It is unique because they way the interviews were conducted is that we went to the Penn State tailgate then immediately brought back to the podcast where what the interviewer experienced could be discussed. We heard from both sides and I think they chose to edit this way just so they can talk about how exactly a Penn State tailgate went down.
4. When transitioning from the interview of the college student back to the podcast they incorporated music which was a nice touch. This just allows for the view to have a better experience while listening to your audio
5. I enjoyed it, I thought that they had a lot of interesting and different elements in the voice over. And really showed me how a Penn state tailgate really is even though I never experience once.

Here is a very informative interview with the hippos caretaker along with some cool pictures and videos of the hippos on the Exhibit.
Here are some interesting photos and facts about the sharks as I take you through the famous shark tunnel!
Here are some facts about some of the sea turtles at this aquarium. the sea turtles are an endangered species and must be treated with special care
Today I stopped by the Heritage Glass Museum in Glassboro New Jersey. I conducted an interview with Gene Costill who served in World War 2 in the naval corps and was a former mayor of Clayton. I am grateful to have the opportunity to interview a man like Gene. Gene is the vice-chairman of the board of directors of the Heritage Glass Museum for 16 years and has been an active member of the board of directors for over 24 years.
What sparked your interest in Glassmaking?
” I got interested in glass when I was in high school serving a morning paper route on a bicycle. And in the wintertime, it’s cold on a bicycle serving papers,” Gene said. “As I would go by there(Clevenger brothers) property in the winter they would let me come in and sit and watch them make glass and get warm.”
Who is the most famous person to have a piece in this museum?
“One of them has got to be Paul Stankard. He is very active with the Salem county vo-tech school, he teaches there and he is trying to provide the students with his knowledge. He goes out in the woods and he picks wildflowers and he takes them back to his lab in Mantua and he makes glass flowers. Then he encloses them in a clear glass orb of all different sizes and shapes, he’s got them in every museum in the country he is a real artist!”

What is the most Historical piece in this museum?
“The most historical piece has got to be up in that cabinet over there it’s the oldest piece that we got. There’s only two of them in existence one there and one out here in Rowan University and it was made in 1784.”
Can you tellme a little bit about the building itself and how it became the Heritage Glass Museum?
“It was built as a bank and it operated for four years as a bank. It was the first national bank of Glassboro and it went under during the depression. The four directors of that bank were indicted for money laundering and eventually went to prison. So Glassboro took back the property and since that time it has been used as an office. The burrows library and then we got it in 1979 and have been here ever since“.
Where did the Whitney glassworks start?
“We are on the exact spot of where it started. From here to the other side of the traffic light and back to college avenue. Almost everybody that lived in Glassboro worked here and made their living here. This is also the site of the Normal school the first teacher’s college was here and then that evolved into Glassboro state and eventually Rowan University”.
